Carolina Luís

Carolina Luís is a Portuguese mezzo-soprano. She studied classical singing with Noa Frenkel and Gerda van Zelm at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague. Before that, she spent a year in Hungary studying voice with Judit Rajk at the Kodály Institute in Kecskemét.

Carolina’s solo work includes the opera roles of 3rd lady in Mozart’s opera Die Zauberflöte, as well as the role of Meg in Mark Adamo’s Little Women. Some of her other solo projects include the alto solo in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle, Bach’s St John’s Passion and Maria’s solo in Respighi’s Lauda per la natività del signore.

As a choir singer Carolina as taken part in the Groot Omroepkoor Academy (2022-2023). She works regularly with Consensus Vocalis where she has done multiple opera productions with the Reisopera, some examples being Korngold’s Das Wunder der Heliane, and Beethoven’s Fidelio. Other performances include Andriessen’s De Materie, Händel’s Messiah, and Jan Van Gilse’s Der Kreis des Lebens.
